EATR robot

Articles from: DVice and TechJournal South

Two article about a new military project to make an Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot (EATR). The robot fuels itself by eating stuff and using matter to power it's steam engine. This is kind of like Betty from the Jetsons and those new vacuum cleaners that work on their own. Initially, the developer said that the EATR could get a lot of energy from corpses, both human and animal. This statement has since been retracted, and we are now told that the EATR will only eat biomass and organic material.

Meat and flesh is off the menu, but not really. The military is developing the EATR, so they are going to use it for either eating people or eating dead bodies...along with grasses and woodchips.
